Background

Where I’ve come from…

I grew up with a fascination with paper and making things with it. This love of making was inspired by spending school holidays at my dad’s place of work, a local printing business in Hamilton. Naturally, this exposure led me towards wanting to make print and design as a career.

At age 18, I moved to Auckland to study the Bachelor of Design at Auckland University of Technology. Shortly after graduating, I took a leap of faith and moved to Sydney, Australia to kick off my career in design.

During my time in Sydney, I worked for some award-wining agencies in Surry Hills. I gained experience in a wide range of design disciplines, including installation design, brand identity and website design.

I lived and worked in Sydney for 6.5 years until it was time to return home to be closer to family in 2019. Upon returning, I felt inspired to be the master of my own destiny – to be a freelance designer. I worked as a freelance designer for several Auckland-based design agencies. I quickly moved away from design agencies to focus purely on working with small to large clients directly. This shift provided me with more meaningful connections with clients, allowing for more enriched creative experiences that would last years to come.

Where I am today…

Six years have passed since I’ve been an independent freelance graphic designer, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I love working with a range of clients every day, from different backgrounds and industries. The range of client projects keeps my design approach creative, interesting and always evolving.

After living in Auckland for 6 years, I’ve relocated and now based in the Waikato, living and working from home, alongside my husband and my little girl.
